CNN’s Dana Bash: Why Would Jared Kushner ‘Make Such a Naive Request’?

CNN’s Dana Bash reacted to the big new report about Jared Kushner tonight by wondering why he would do something so “naive.”

The Washington Post is reporting tonight that the Russian ambassador said Jared Kushner spoke to him and proposed a secret communications channel to the Kremlin.

Bash said the report leaves us with “a lot of unanswered questions, like: “Why would Jared Kushner make such a, frankly, naive request to do something like ask the Russians to see if he can use their communications to have a backchannel?”

She added that “it doesn’t make sense on its face” and that if the report is accurate and this really happened, he may have just done something “really really naive.”

As the Post report notes (and others on TV have noted tonight), this could have potentially been Russian disinformation.
