This morning CNN anchor Victor Blackwell confronted one Republican congressman over where exactly the leadership from President Trump is on the shutdown.
“The President has not said anything to the American people, to the camera, released a video, said something,” he said to Congressman Markwayne Mullin. “Beyond where’s the leadership, where’s the leader? Where is the President on all of this? Why isn’t he talking to a camera?”
Mullin said that the President is talking to members of Congress, but Blackwell shot back that he works for the American people and should address them directly.
“Why is the president not speaking to the American people?” he asked. “Don’t the American people deserve to hear from their president?”
The President has taken to Twitter since the shutdown deadline passed:
This is the One Year Anniversary of my Presidency and the Democrats wanted to give me a nice present. #DemocratShutdown

For those asking, the Republicans only have 51 votes in the Senate, and they need 60. That is why we need to win more Republicans in 2018 Election! We can then be even tougher on Crime (and Border), and even better to our Military & Veterans!

Democrats are far more concerned with Illegal Immigrants than they are with our great Military or Safety at our dangerous Southern Border. They could have easily made a deal but decided to play Shutdown politics instead. #WeNeedMoreRepublicansIn18 in order to power through mess!
