Colbert Asks Toon Trump If He Really Knows how Numbers Work
Stephen Colbert is getting his money’s worth for the cartoony creation put out by his animators. Since Donald Trump‘s campaign grows ever more bizarre and fraught with controversy, The Late Show decided their bring back his toon doppleganger to mock the mogul’s behavior ahead of the Wisconsin primaries.
As Colbert noted, Trump’s abortion flip-flopping and inflammatory campaign has started to take its toll on the polled probability of whether he’ll secure 1,237 delegates before the GOP convention. The host asked Cartoon Trump about whether he’s concerned about how Ted Cruz was beating him this time around, but just like the real-life version, “Trump” replied that, of course, his numbers are definitely bigger and he’s going to win, win, win.
“I’m gonna get the biggest votes,” Cartoon Trump said. “I’m talking check marks so huge, you’re gonna need two ballots just to fit it on there.”
Colbert said that bolding and emphasizing his poll numbers alone won’t make people like Trump more. Cartoon Trump, of course, thoroughly disagreed by pulling out a sign with his huge numbers and flipping Colbert the “Trump Towers.”
