Colbert To Rep. Weiner: ‘You Want To Interrupt And Belittle People? Get Your Own Show On Fox’
Democratic Congressman Anthony Weiner visited Stephen Colbert last night and appeared much more relaxed than he did in some of his recent Fox News appearances. Colbert played a few clips of Weiner trying to argue issues with Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity and Megyn Kelly, but constantly getting interrupted and Colbert concluded, “what a jerk – Congressman Weiner, if you want to interrupt and belittle people, get your own show on Fox.”
Weiner continued arguing that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas should recuse himself from deciding whether the individual mandate provision of the healthcare reform law is constitutional, since Thomas’ wife publicly opposes the bill and it gives off an appearance of bias. Colbert responded that every man has to say he agrees with his wife, but in reality rarely does and comically suggested Weiner was just jealous of the Supreme Court. Then Colbert and Weiner humorously exchanged yiddish words with Colbert pleading “haven’t we suffered enough?” Before the comedy ends, Weiner confirmed that eventually running for Mayor of New York City is a real possibility, but threw water on the idea of moving to the Senate.
