Dana Bash on Comey Hearing: He’s ‘Political’ and Proved He’s No ‘Pollyanna Boy Scout’
Following former FBI Director James Comey’s much-hyped testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee, we got the immediate cable pundit reactions. And the way CNN’s Dana Bash saw it, Comey proved himself to be a political beast today.
Touching on Comey’s remarks where he stated that he had a close friend of his release his memos to the New York Times so he could spur a special counsel in the Russia probe, Bash noted the political game Comey was playing.
“He might not be a Democrat or Republican, but boy is this guy political,” she stated. “To sort of have the wherewithal to do that and to sort of think ten steps ahead and want that to be the end goal.”
Bash continued, “That just gives you a sense that he’s not just a Pollyanna boy scout. He wants to affect something, and he wants to get to the point of something like that, and he knows exactly how to do it and use the institutions of Washington and the media to make that happen.”
