Don Imus And Guests, Including Sean Hannity, Talk White House Feud

imus_10-23It’s not just on Fox News where the self-referential reporting and punditry is taking place when it comes to the feud with the White House – it’s on Fox Business Network as well.

Earlier this week we took a look at where the network stands two years in – here’s where it stood today on Don Imus‘ show.

Fox News star Sean Hannity called into Don Imus’ morning show, and, inevitably, the White House/FNC feud was a major topic. “It’s not my war with the White House, they’re the ones that declared war on Fox,” he said. Later: “During the campaign I found it extremely odd that Obama attacked me by name 10 or 12 times. I really did. I loved every second of it, but I thought it was odd.”

Imus’ position poked fun at the opinion side of FNC, but disagreed very clearly with the White House. “They were fundamentally wrong,” he said of the Obama administration. “They were confusing your very fine award-winning program, and your very close friend Bill O’Reilly‘s fine program and your other close friend Glenn Beck‘s very fine program, with the news that’s done on Fox.” (The White House would probably argue they aren’t confused at all.)

New York Daily News sports columnist Mike Lupica was also a guest this morning, and, like most people weighing in on this issue from the political spectrum, didn’t think the White House was coming out looking very good. “I think it’s stupid,” said Lupica. “He looks bad, it’s not presidential, and it was ill-conceived at the start.”
