Donald Trump Did Live Fox News Interview Opposite Benghazi Mother’s Convention Speech
Donald Trump tonight called into Fox News for a live interview, but the timing of that interview was fascinating because of who was speaking opposite that interview at the convention.
Trump’s interview with Bill O’Reilly (below) aired at the same time as Patricia Smith spoke about her son, who was killed in Benghazi. Right after she spoke, when Trump was still on Fox, there was a video on Benghazi and two of the heroes of that night spoke.
Which meant that these speeches were not covered live on Fox News––the network that, out of all the three big cable networks, you would assume would have given it the most focus.
Fox’s own Brit Hume called the timing “interesting” when he was on with O’Reilly a little later, and he wasn’t the only one who noticed:
Strange that Trump would do Fox interview right now, meaning viewers aren’t watching emotional moving speech by Benghazi victim’s mother.

If Benghazi messaging is so important to Trump, why did he step on that message by giving interview to Fox News? https://t.co/CBHUjXx4Q5

Which network do Republican voters watch? That's the one Trump is phoning into while RNC does its Benghazi thing. pic.twitter.com/9Cm0WSf09P

Trump has called in to Fox News during his own convention, getting them to abandon an emotional speech from the mom of a Benghazi victim.
