Ed Henry Says Trump Has ‘Vindication’ Against Reporters ‘Who Will Go Unnamed’ Who Said Caravan Not an Invasion
Former acting ICE Director Thomas Homan was on Fox and Friends on Sunday to discuss the migrant caravan and the situation at the border with Mexico at Tijuana. Homan said President Donald Trump has made “genius” move that have been right 100% of the time, while Chief National Corresponded Ed Henry said Trump appears to have “vindication” on the subject of whether it is an “invasion.”
The hosts were speaking with Homan about the issue of whether there were criminals in the caravan and how they were being detected.
“We’ve verified that there were 500 criminals in the first caravan,” he said. He explained that he couldn’t explain how they obtain all the information but that they use established law enforcement techniques in addition to interviews and records.
“It’s solid information that we’re getting from within the caravan based on a lot of information, biometric and biographic,” he continued, “so look, regardless of whether they want to come forward or not in their criminal history, we’re going to find it through our other methods.”
“We’ve already verified over five hundred [with criminal records],” he said. “This isn’t talking about the hundreds more that we can’t verify–there’s a suspicion but we have yet to verify to be able to say absolutely they’re criminals. There’s more than five hundred. It’s just five hundred that we can verify.”
Ed Henry pointed out that the President has said all along there was a criminal element.
“Tom, that seems like some vindication for the president who was warning about that very fact, and you have various reporters who shall go unnamed, and others in the Democratic party saying ‘oh there’s no criminals and this is not an invasion’ and all the rest,” he said. He asked Homan to explain further exactly what the troops are doing at the border and why the deployment was extended.
“I want to ask you about the homeland security department asking the Pentagon to extend the border deployment through at least January,” said Henry. “I want to add some skepticism, there are a lot of critics in Congress saying this is pretty expensive for American taxpayers. Can you explain what our men and women in uniform–what they’re doing and whether it’s worth the taxpayer money?”
“First of all, President Trump has been right 100% of the time when it comes to border security,” Homan began. “Everything he’s done on the border makes sense from the perspective of law enforcement, from the perspective of the rule of law and the sovereignty of this country.”
“He has been 100% accurate, and the Democrats don’t like that. They just, they hate it,” he said. He then answered the question about sending the Department of Defense to the border. “That was a genius move, because not only does he control the illegal entry of this caravan, and protect the sovereignty of this country, but by doing that, by sending DoD to the border, he is infuriating the drug cartels, and I’ve said for years, illegal immigration bankrolls drug cartels.”
He said that with more people and more troops at the border it frustrates the drug cartels and their ability to “move their product.”
“Well stopping them from poisoning our children is obviously a big, big, big priority of this President and we appreciate you pointing that out,” said Henry.
