Fox Guest: If Duggars Were Atheists, the Right Wouldn’t Be So Forgiving

Conservatives have been expressing their love and forgiveness for the Duggar family ever since Josh Duggar publicly confessed to molesting young girls, including his own sisters, when he was a teenager, but there have been some questions about whether they would be so forgiving if the Duggars weren’t Christians.

Arise TV anchor and former CNN correspondent Lola Ogunnaike made the same point to Fox’s Howard Kurtz yesterday, saying if the Duggars were atheists, conservatives “would have thrown the book at them.”

“They would have raked them over the coals,” Ogunnaike said, “drawn and quartered the entire family in the middle of Times Square.”

And, she added, they seem to be acting pretty lenient towards the family, considering the circumstances.
