Fox Hosts Praise Biden’s ‘Agile’ and ‘Effective’ Response to Press Question About Trump and Haley
President Joe Biden had a rather flippant response on Tuesday to a question about whom he’d rather run against in the general election, but a couple of Fox News hosts called it an “agile” moment.
During Wednesday’s episode of America’s Newsroom, co-hosts Dana Perino and Bill Hemmer welcomed Outnumbered co-host Kayleigh McEnany to discuss Biden and his likely opponent in November, former President Donald Trump. And while McEnany, who served as Trump’s press secretary, is still a staunch defender of her former boss, she actually had some positive words about Biden.
The moment in question was Biden responding to a reporter asking whom he’d rather compete against in the general election, Trump or former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley. Biden’s response was a lighthearted “Oh, I don’t care!”
Perino introduced the video by saying it was a “fairly agile” moment by Biden, then continued when the video was done:
Perino: You know, it’s sort of like, “I’m confident,” and you don’t really usually see that. And, you know, I hate that shot in front of the helicopter. But that, I thought, was actually effective for President Biden.
McEnany: Yeah. Treat it dismissively, I agree. Look, the age concern is a serious one. Let your allies litigate that case for you. We know he takes age coverage seriously. There was a CNN report that his press shop puts a tally together of all the times age was mentioned. That was last year that that came out. So he knows it’s a legitimate criticism, but for him to treat it dismissively and confidently, I think is the right response on that.
