Fox News’ Gutfeld: Avenatti ‘Doesn’t Give a Crap About What Will Happen to America If He Succeeds’

Fox News’ The Five let loose on Stormy Daniels lawyer Michael Avenatti today, with questions about his background and constant media appearances.

Jesse Watters said he thinks Avenatti is “in a fiscal hole and he’s trying to dig his way out of it and try to get fame and fortune.”

He brought up reporting about Avenatti’s business dealings with Tully’s Coffee, saying, “This guy has a history of alleged fraud, yet he accuses the President of being a fraudster. It always happens with these people.”

He also brought up Avenatti’s past Democratic ties. Daniels’ lawyer was confronted about that on his Fox News interview weeks ago and he said at the time it’s “laughable” for people to bring that up.

“This guy is clearly on a mission to get a TV show and raise money so he can afford his tax liabilities,” Watters continued.

Juan Williams wondered whether all this is just a way of undercutting “someone who is doing damage to the President.” Kennedy said, “No, I think Michael Avenatti is doing damage to himself.”

“He no longer talks about Stormy Daniels. He’s no longer trying to ‘get to the truth.’ He’s trying to get in front of a microphone,” she continued. “The world has enough blowhards. We don’t need one more TV lawyer who’s making other lawyers hire their own lawyers.”

Greg Gutfeld ended the segment with this claim about Avenatti’s true intentions:

“He’s got to consider the consequences of his actions. Maybe he wants a TV show, but what he’s acting like he wants is impeachment. He basically doesn’t [care] if the consequences that he unseats a growingly popular President who’s making the world safer. So he’s okay with that. He’s also okay with the conflict and the turmoil that would happen after that, so what he’s saying is ‘In order to get a TV show, I’m willing to risk civil violence, anything, unrest.’ He doesn’t give a crap about what will happen to America if he succeeds.”
