Fox News Host Appears Alarmed By Trump Nuke Threat Against Russia: ‘Talking Like We’re on the Verge of War’

Fox News host Will Cain appeared alarmed by President Donald Trump’s nuclear threat to Russia on Friday’s edition of The Will Cain Show, saying he doesn’t “know if we can just say this is saber-rattling.”

Trump posted on Truth Social Friday morning that he had “ordered two nuclear submarines to be positioned in the appropriate regions,” after this week’s war of words with former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, in which he warned Trump to “not go down the Sleepy Joe road” and accused him of engaging in a “game of ultimatums.”

Notably, it was not clear whether Trump was referring to submarines with nuclear weapons capabilities or nuclear-powered submarines.

“I don’t know if we can just say this is saber-rattling,” Cain said to right-wing commentator Ben Shapiro. “I don’t think we’re on the verge of war with Russia, but that’s two guys talking like we’re on the verge of war.”

“Playing chicken with President Trump is a bad game,” said Shapiro. “That is a stupid game to play with the President of the United States.”

In the same Truth Social post in which he announced the submarines, Trump called Medvedev’s statements “foolish and inflammatory,” also writing that “words are very important, and can often lead to unintended consequences.”

“We don’t want to get in a button-measuring contest,” said Cain to round out the segment. “It usually weighs out on the side of the United States.”
