Grab the Nearest Drink and Brace Yourself for the Today Show Musical

This is it, folks. The day you’ve all been waiting for. The Today Show debuted its 14-minute on-air musical spectacular Today! the Musical this morning, starring the show’s own Sal Cacciato and none other than Regis Philbin.

And man, is this a doozy.

First off, you have Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, and the rest of the hosts and crew singing together. Yeah. Secondly, you have Carson Daly and Willie Geist just lurking in scenes, scheming. And thirdly, you have Al Roker popping his head in to shout about polar vortexes and sharknadoes.

There’s some bleeped swearing (on The Today Show? I know…), Lauer trash-talking Philbin, and, of course, a lot of singing. Philbin really gets to show his musical chops, and––I swear to God––he actually sings the line, “Just like sperm and salmon, sometimes you gotta swim upstream.”

Yes, the Today Show musical gave us Regis Philbin singing about sperm.

You’re welcome.
