Hannity Asks Palin if Teleprompter ‘Went Down’ During Iowa Speech

Sarah Palin may have jabbed Bill O’Reilly last night for suggesting her presidential ambitions are nothing more than a “reality show,” but the current reality show star also took some unexpected heat from Sean Hannity over the speech she gave at the Iowa Freedom Summit this past weekend.

Noting the criticism she received from a wide swath of people, including her own supporters, for what many saw as an unfocused, rambling speech, Hannity asked Palin, “Did a teleprompter go down? Did you have trouble with the copy? Was there any moment in the speech where you had any difficulty?”

“I don’t read the praise and I don’t read the criticism because I know how you guys — or how the media in general works,” Palin told Hannity, who clearly did not enjoy being lumped in with the rest of the mainstream media. She also asserted that the teleprompter broke during her 2008 vice-presidential nomination speech, a story that was largely debunked at the time.

“I received a standing ovation throughout and at the end of the speech,” Palin continued. “So I don’t know, I think a lot of this herd mentality of some reporters would — that kind of exacerbates some of the criticism.”
