Hannity Blasts Obama Admin for Not Taking the ‘Russian Threat Seriously’: ‘They Were Complicit!’
On Friday night, Sean Hannity reacted to the latest indictments from the Special Counsel Robert Mueller in a lengthy, passionate monologue.
The Fox News host touted that, according to remarks made by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, no one from the Trump campaign were knowingly involved in the meddling of the 13 Russian nationals that were indicted and that Russia’s interference “did not impact the election results.” He also stressed that these Russian operatives were “engaging in political activities for both campaigns.”
Hannity blasted pundits on CNN and MSNBC for continuously pushing the collusion narrative, claiming that “facts don’t matter” to the “fake news media.”
He then took aim at President Obama and his administration for allowing the 2009 Uranium One deal with Russia to go through and for their handling of the Russian influence campaign which dates back to 2014.
“Where the hell was the Obama administration?” Hannity asked. “What did they do then to stop this?”
Hannity pointed to a report from NBC News about how they “didn’t do more” to stop Russia because they thought Hillary Clinton was going to win the 2016 election.
“So in other words, it sounds like the Obama administration––they were complicit in this!” Hannity exclaimed. “They dropped the ball!”
He ripped Obama, saying “maybe he didn’t take the Russian threat seriously,” and called him out for mocking Mitt Romney when he warned that Russia was the biggest geopolitical threat during a debate back in 2012.
“Given what we know now, President Obama, the top members of his administration owe you an explanation. Hillary owes you an explanation,” Hannity continued. “What this did is a dereliction of duty. They fail to stop a major national security threat.”
