Here Are the 10 Craziest Moments From Trump’s Bonkers 51 Minute Media Blitz

President Donald Trump gave a surprise interview to Fox & Friends earlier today, and then eventually opened up to the rest of the White House press pool, which led to 51 minutes of sparring with the media and all sorts of unbelievable statements.

Since the report from the Justice Department Inspector General is still the top story of day, Trump fielded a number of questions on that topic — many of which he used to rip on James Comey, Peter Strzok, Hillary Clinton and his many other political enemies.

The IG report was hardly the only topic that came up though, and Trump ended up making headlines with his comments on the G7, North Korea, and everything in between.

To make things simple for you, here’s a list of the 10 craziest moments during Trump’s media scrum.

1. Trump Trashes Comey, Says its “Ridiculous” the IG Found No Evidence of Political Bias.

As we noted above, Trump went on scorched-earth tirade against Comey and other FBI officials who were faulted in yesterday’s report. He called the report a “horror show” while complaining about the “ridiculous” statement that Comey wasn’t acting on political bias with his more controversial actions in office.

2. Trump Touts Relationship with Kim Jong Un, Wishes America Revered Him Like North Korea Does Kim

Trump continued to say that he struck an excellent relationship with Kim Jong Un when they met earlier this week to discuss North Korea’s denuclearization. As he defended himself for saluting one of Kim’s generals (which is being circulated by North Korean state media), Trump said he wished that he received similar respect in America to what Kim gets in his home country — where disrespect to the dictator is punishable by imprisonment or death.

3. Trump Defends Sarah Sanders, Says She Should’ve Walked Out of White House Correspondents Dinner.

Trump slammed the press for antagonizing Press Secretary Sarah Sanders and suggested that she should’ve walked away from the White House Correspondents Dinner when she was getting roasted by Michelle Wolff. He also responded strangely to the reports of whether Sanders will depart from the White House, saying “at some point she will leave like everybody leaves.”

4. Trump Trashes CNN For Not Getting His ‘Sarcasm’ About Receiving North Korean Levels of Adulation

Remember when Trump suggested he was envious of the mandatory praise Kim Jong Un gets from the people of North Korea? Well, he was asked about that, and since the question came from CNN, Trump trashed the outlet for the zillionth time because they didn’t realize he was “kidding.”

5. Trump on Excusing North Korean Human Rights Abuses: I Don’t Want Kim to Nuke You and Your Family

Trump was asked by Weijia Jiang of CBS News why he didn’t do more to challenge Kim on his human rights abuses — especially after he fiercely condemned North Korea for killing Otto Warmbier and their other crimes against humanity.

“Because I don’t want to see a nuclear weapon destroy you and your family,” Trump told Jiang, shushing reporters when they tried to ask follow-up questions.

6. Trump Continues to Use North Korea’s Characterization of U.S. ‘War Games’

Trump took questions on how the Pentagon is suspending military drills around the Korean Peninsula until further notice, which critics are calling a major concession to the Kim regime. Trump grumbled about the cost of these “war games,” and here’s what he had to say about how he’s referring to these exercises the same way North Korea does.

7. Trump is Still Blaming Democrats for His Administration’s Policy to Break Up Immigrant Families

Trump once again said it was the Democrats’ fault for his administration’s policy separating migrant children from their parents at the U.S. southern border. He called it a law concocted by Democrats (it is not), and rejected any notion that he could change the policy himself, even by executive order.

8. Trump says Michael Cohen Isn’t His Lawyer Anymore, Doesn’t Rule Out Pardon for Paul Manafort

Trump had some interesting comments regarding Paul Manafort and Michael Cohen, both of whom used to be part of his inner circle. The president dismissed the significance of his former campaign chairman, and he also said Cohen no longer serves as his personal lawyer. This comes shortly after indications suggested that Cohen is about to cooperate with federal investigators looking into his affairs.

9. Trump Trashes The New York Times Over His Dictation of Don Jr.’s Kremlin Lawyer Statement

Trump was asked about what his lawyers said on how he personally dictated his son’s misleading statement about his infamous meeting with a Kremlin lawyer at Trump Tower. Trump said the question was “irrelevant” because the statement was given to the “phony, failing New York Times” instead of a “high tribunal of judges.”

10. Trump Blames Obama for Losing Crimea After Russia Invaded Ukraine

Trump was asked why he keeps calling for Russia to be reinstated in the G8, despite the fact that they were kicked out for their invasion of Ukraine in 2014. Even though Barack Obama led the charge for Russia’s expulsion from the international coalition at the time, Trump said it was his predecessor’s fault Russia annexed Crimea.
