Jon Stewart Tries To Contain Himself Over Rick Santorum’s Ad Featuring Brown Liquid
Jon Stewart struggled to keep it together on Thursday’s Daily Show, affirming that they were not going to make fun of Rick Santorum over the double-meaning synonym for his last name. “He’s a serious contender now, and we ourselves recognized two months ago, when I announced on this program, we will no longer be making jokes about the alternate meaning of Santorum’s name,” Stewart attested. “Yeah! No matter how tempting it would be!”
Stewart did not anticipate that a news anchor would utter the phrase, “Rick Santorum’s surge is spreading!” As Stewart chewed up his script, he thought he could distract himself by watching the Republican hopeful’s latest ad, yet nearly tossed his cookies when he realized the ad’s contents.
