Kurt Schlichter: Roy Moore is Going to Send Gloria Allred ‘A Dozen Roses’ For Helping Him Win
On Friday night, Townhill.com columnist Kurt Schlichter weighed in on the controversy surrounding Beverly Young Nelson‘s yearbook.
Last month, Nelson came forward beside famed lawyer Gloria Allred and accused GOP Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore of trying to rape her when she was 16 years old. And during that press conference, she presented her high school yearbook that had Moore’s signature in it.
Well, it wasn’t until today that she admitted she “made notes” to the signature, adding the date and location.
Schlichter claimed Nelson “dropped an atomic bomb” on her case.
“Poor Gloria Allred- watching everything go to hell right in front of her, but there’s good news,” Schlichter told Shannon Bream. “If Roy Moore wins on Tuesday, I think he will, I think Roy Moore is going to send her a dozen roses because Gloria Allred’s name is all over his impending victory.”
He said it’s “up to the Alabama voters” to decide what accusers are credible and that what happened with Nelson “undercuts the credibility” of Moore’s other accusers.
“I’m in Los Angeles. I’m not going to be voting in Alabama and I’m not sure exactly what I would do if I were,” Schlichter continued. “But anybody who tells you have some sort of ‘moral obligation’ to believe all of the evidence put forward by Donald Trump and Roy Moore’s opponents, especially after we find they were tampering with evidence… You have every right to disbelieve what’s going on. As you know, Shannon, every state jury instructions tells the jury; if the witness lies about one thing, you are perfectly reasonable to disbelieve them in other things. That’s what happened.”
Fellow panelist Isaac Wright pushed back against Schlichter, noting the rest of Moore’s accusers.
“There is a preponderance of evidence, there’s overwhelming evidence…” Wright said. “Kurt, I may not be a fancy L.A. lawyer like you, but country boys like me don’t like old men who prey on young girls-”
“Well then why did you vote for Bill Clinton?!?” Schlichter shot back.
Bream quickly intervened, saying they don’t have the time to “start in that time machine.”
