Mary Katharine Hams It Up on Absentee Comey Sacking: ‘Even Meat Loaf’ Got Fired by Trump in Person

So, who had The Federalist’s Mary Katharine Ham in the betting pool for best one-liner associated with President Donald Trump’s firing of FBI Director James Comey?

During a CNN panel discussion this afternoon, Ham weighed in on the stunning news of Comey’s termination, noting that she considers herself “a little bit contrarian” when it comes to Comey since America put him in an awkward position by nominating two people for president who would end up being under FBI investigation. Therefore, there was never a good way for him to handle either situation.

This then led to her bringing up the president’s previous occupation as reality TV show host who was most famous for shouting “You’re Fired!” week after week.

“Even Meat Loaf got an in-person firing from Trump,” Ham said. “And I think probably Comey deserved that as well.”

Yep, Ham has jokes.

Host John King would go on to add that Comey’s termination was handled in a “classless way” by Trump as the now former FBI chief found out about it by watching television.
