McCain: I’m Encouraged by Trump’s NatSec Team, But Flynn Shows WH Still ‘In Disarray’

Senator John McCain said today he’s very encouraged by President Trump‘s national security team, even as he’s concerned about the “disarray” the White House appears to be in.

McCain spoke at the Munich Security Conference today, with a speech that took a few subtle digs at the president, but during a discussion later he said if he had been asked to pick a good national security team for Trump, he “couldn’t have picked a better team” than this one.

McCain was asked if he means that pre-Flynn or post-Flynn.

He responded, “The Flynn issue, obviously, is something that shows that, in many respects, this administration is in disarray and they’ve got a lot of work to do.”

McCain then went back to giving Trump credit for choosing people like General James Mattis for prominent national security roles.
