McMullin Responds to White Nationalist Robocall, Says ‘Most Bigots’ Support Trump
Independent conservative candidate Evan McMullin responded on CNN today to being the subject of a pro-Donald Trump white nationalist robocall in which he is referred to as a “closet homosexual.”
McMullin told Jake Tapper that the accusations about his sexuality and his position on immigration are both flat-out untrue.
And while the Trump campaign disavowed this robocall, McMullin said, “This is exactly the narrative and the approach that the Donald Trump campaign has had.”
“Trump supporters have attacked me because of my faith,” he said. “They’ve attacked my service. We’ve even received some death threats from these white supremacists… They’ve attacked my family.”
And when Tapper brought up that “Jew-S-A” Trump supporter, McMullin even went so far as to say, “I don’t think everybody who supports Donald Trump is a racist or a bigot in any way, but I do think that most bigots and most racists are supporting Donald Trump in this campaign.”
