Melania Trump Tells Ainsley Earhardt: ‘I Don’t Always Agree What My Husband is Saying or Doing’

Melania Trump revealed to Fox & Friends co-host Ainsley Earhardt that she doesn’t always agree with what her husband is saying or doing, and “that’s okay.”

The once and future First Lady sat with Earhardt for an interview that largely focused on a new Amazon-produced documentary set for release in the Fall, what is described as a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like for the First Lady to return to the White House.

“Do you feel like you’re in a different space now than you were eight years ago?” Earhardt asked Ms. Trump.

“I feel I was always me the first time, as well,” she replied. “I just feel that people didn’t accept me. Maybe they didn’t understand me the way maybe they do now. And I didn’t have much support.”

“Maybe some people — they see me as just the wife of the president, but I’m standing on my own two feet independent. I have my own thoughts. I have my own Yes and no,'” she continued.”I don’t always agree with my husband is saying or doing. And that’s okay.”

“Are you able to tell him when you disagree?” Earhardt followed up.

“I give him my advice, and sometimes he listens. Sometimes he doesn’t. And that’s okay.” she replied.

Amazon reportedly paid a stunning $40 million to license the documentary directed by controversial film director Bret Ratner, an exorbitant fee that James Carville suggested “somebody should look into.” Carville said:

This is something I’m going to claim some expertise in, the subject of documentaries because I’ve been the subject of two and I’ve been the subject of a recent one… You can produce a world class documentary for $2 million. I know it. You couldn’t spend $40 million on a documentary if you tried 10 times harder to do it, so where’s the money going? Well, we know where the money is going.

The Democratic strategist suggested the deal is just a way for Amazon founder Jeff Bezos to get closer to Trump, calling $40 million “chump change” for the billionaire.

The Melania documentary is scheduled for theatrical release in the fall and will later stream on Amazon Prime.
