O’Reilly Confronts Trump Over Khan Attacks: Don’t Go After the Mother Like That

Bill O’Reilly confronted Donald Trump tonight over why he even bothered responding to attacks by Khizr Khan and, as O’Reilly put it, giving the liberal media exactly what it wants.

Trump repeatedly complained that he was “viciously attacked” by Khan and he lashed out at the “totally dishonest” media.

O’Reilly offered some light scolding, telling him “it wasn’t wise to bring the mother in” by suggesting she wasn’t speaking because she’s Muslim.

Trump did not back down from that attack, saying “I read a lot and I watch a lot” and “many people discussed this.” (Reminder: Khan said she didn’t speak because she was too overcome with grief.)

O’Reilly advised Trump against “punching down.”

He said it should be basic common sense that if “there’s some little Muslim woman who loses her son,” he shouldn’t attack her. Period.
