Stewart Finds Republicans’ Supreme Court Silver Lining: Death and Lung Problems
Jon Stewart tried to cheer Republicans up about the Supreme Court today by finding a silver lining for them in rulings on the death penalty––backing the use of a controversial lethal injection drug––and on the EPA going out of bounds in limiting toxic emissions.
“Gay people have the right to marry and poor people have the right to insurance,” Stewart said, “but on the bright side, America can still kill prisoners painfully and everyone else slowly.”
Correspondent Jordan Klepper used the opportunity to take a victory lap, declaring that the Supreme Court “has finally brought justice back to America” and told off Stewart and the rest of the “PC police” (with a dig at Donald Trump along the way).
