The View Goes Off on Newest Cohen Bombshell: If He’s Telling the Truth, Then Don Jr.’s a ‘Liar’
The View knocked President Donald Trump and Donald Trump Jr. this morning over new reporting that the President knew in advance about his son’s infamous Trump Tower meeting.
Michael Cohen is now apparently saying Trump knew, while Trump took to Twitter this morning to adamantly deny it.
Joy Behar found it “hilarious” that Rudy Giuliani is now calling the President’s longtime lawyer a serial liar, saying both Cohen and Trump are taking cues from Roy Cohn‘s playbook.
Sunny Hostin noted how Cohen wasn’t the only one there, pointing to Paul Manafort‘s presence at the meeting and saying people tend to “flip real quick” when they’re looking at years in prison.
If Cohen’s telling the truth, she said, both Trump and Trump Jr. would be in trouble.
“He’s a liar, Donald Jr., if this is true,” Behar said.
Meghan McCain said this whole thing comes down to “what liar do you believe” between Cohen and Trump. She brought up Cohen’s past statements of loyalty to Trump before saying a guy like that probably knows “where the proverbial bodies are buried.”
McCain did criticize Don Jr. a bit, calling the meeting “bizarre” in the first place. “They had a meeting with a foreign adversary,” she said. “When you work on campaigns and in politics, people are always trying to offer you oppo research on something, always. I wouldn’t have taken a meeting with Canada, let alone somebody from Russia. So the idea that you’re meeting with a foreign adversary… and you were even comfortable with that, I know it’s not illegal, but it’s obviously unethical.”
After the co-hosts brought up Trump’s response, even invoking “crooked Hillary” again, Behar remarked, “He dares to call her crooked Hillary still, when he is the biggest crook.”
