‘To Hell With Bibi?!’ Joe Scarborough Stunned by Trump’s Middle East Pivot

Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough was stunned by President Donald Trump’s hard Middle East policy pivot as he reflected on the president’s push with Iran and Gaza while leaving out Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Netanyahu’s government has remained conspicuously silent as Trump delivered a series of foreign policy bombshells on his Middle East tour that have upended long-standing assumptions about U.S.-Israel relations.

Taken together, the flurry of moves marks a clear pivot away from prior U.S. alignments in the region – and Scarborough was quick to flag the change:

All the things that have happened this week with Syria, Iran, with Netanyahu being shut out, the hostage negotiation—where Donald Trump basically says: “To hell with Bibi, I’m going to do this on my own.”

You could go down a long list of things that have really, in a very significant way, sort of reshuffled the board. And now here we come to Iran, where Bibi wanted to invade. Trump said, “No, not going to do it.” And now negotiating with Bibi’s sworn enemy.

In just the past week, Trump has bypassed Israel entirely, prioritizing economic deals with Gulf nations like Qatar, long accused by Israeli officials of funding Hamas, halted U.S. strikes on Iranian-backed Houthis in Yemen, despite ongoing missile attacks on Israel and greenlighting U.S. negotiations with Hamas to secure the release of Edan Alexander, the last known American hostage in Gaza.

As the week continued, Trump discussed scrapping sanctions on Syria and urged normalization with the new government, which Israel opposes.
