‘Total Idiots’: Joe Scarborough Slams Republican ‘DEI Hire’ Harris Attack Line As ‘Racist’

Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough hit out at Republicans attacking Democratic presumptive nominee Vice President Kamala Harris as a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) hire as “racist.”

It comes one day after Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) repeated his claim that Harris was only selected because of her racial and gender identity.

Scarborough, however, was not having it, calling the attack line “racist” and the Republicans that use it “total idiots.”

During Tuesday’s show on MSNBC, the Morning Joe host said: “This is a real generational shift. You have Republicans being total idiots, attacking her as being a DEI candidate.”

He continued: “I will tell you, 99% of Americans don’t even know what those letters stand for. But they know it is probably racist. It’s just not the way to go.

Scarborough added: “When I look at the vice president, I’m just looking at somebody that is a generation younger than Donald Trump. I think it is going to energize a lot of people that Democrats need to win this election.”
