Trump: Lewandowski Has Been ‘Seriously Maligned’ and I’m Sticking by Him

Donald Trump took some questions from reporters on his plane in Wisconsin this afternoon, and he took a few minutes to affirm he’s absolutely standing by Corey Lewandowski after his battery charges.

He said he looked at the surveillance footage of Michelle Fields being grabbed and said it’s “very conclusive” that she exaggerated what happened.

Trump declared that Lewandowski has been “very very seriously maligned and I think it’s very unfair.” He denied this says anything about a pattern in his campaign, continuing his sudden claim today that Fields was trying to “grab” him (despite Trump never bringing this up at all in weeks prior).

He affirmed that he will “stick by” Lewandowski no matter what and lashed out at the “false” attacks against him.
