‘Two Hours of Bullsh*t’: Zelensky Hammers Tucker Carlson on Fox News Over Fawning Putin Interview
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was unsparing in his criticism of Tucker Carlson and Vladimir Putin in talking about them with Fox News’s Bret Baier.
Carlson is the ousted Fox News host turned social media host who has long been a Putin apologist. He recently received bipartisan criticism for what many called a fawning interview with the Russian president responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of individuals as a result of the invasion of Ukraine.
Baier brought the interview up with Zelensky in a long-form interview held near the front lines of the war. “My former colleague, Tucker Carlson, recently traveled to Moscow and sat down for an interview with Vladimir Putin,” Baier noted. “Did you happen to see that or coverage of it?”
“I heard some messages in the media, and also my guys who are advisers told me,” Zelensky answered before giving something of a tough review for Carlson’s interview. “I don’t have time to hear more than two hours of bullshit about us. About the world, about the United States, about our relations.”
Baier also pressed Zelenksy on Putin’s allegations of Ukrainian Nazis. “But he also calls you a neo-Nazi, by the way, and says you have Nazis in your administration.”
“I heard about this,” replied Zelensky in an unserious tone. “[I] Keep searching for them in the administration, but I couldn’t find it. But we’ll keep working. Keep searching.”
Earlier in the interview, Baier also asked about his goals for 2024 and a stalled funding bill in the U.S. Congress, which Zelensky a “tragedy”:
BAIER: So as you look at 2024 and those goals, what do you see? You know, one, if you get the funding from the U.S., what does it look like? And the other way, if you don’t, what does it look like?
ZELENSKY: Some journalist shouted, “Will Ukrainians survive without Congress support?” And this often the last months, as I often hear such question Will we survive? Of course, but not all of us. And if we understand this surprise, if the world is ready for this, okay, you will see it. But it’s tragedy. It will be tragedy for all of us, not only for Ukraine, not only for Ukrainians, for all Europe.
