WH Spox on Rudy Giuliani’s Admission That Trump Reimbursed Cohen: ‘We Have Nothing To Say About It’

Deputy White House Press Secretary Hogan Gidley was immediately grilled about the big bombshell admission that Rudy Giuliani made to Sean Hannity.

Giuliani, a recent addition to President Trump‘s legal team who sat down with the Fox News host for a full hour, shared a stunning fact that Trump reimbursed the $130,000 to his personal lawyer Michael Cohen after he paid off porn star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 election.

Sitting down with Shannon Bream, Gidley was grilled by the major revelation and began by telling her he had “no idea” what Giuliani was going to tell Hannity. And let’s just say his lips weren’t as loose as Giuliani’s.

“All I can say is, as you know, this is ongoing litigation,” Gidley told Bream. “I have to refer anything to this matter to the president’s outside counsel.”

She then asked if the press team ever talked about the possibility that the president “may know more” about the payoff than what’s been discussed publicly, Gidley responded by saying they’ve “addressed this many times,” but that in this particular case, they have “nothing to say about it.”

Before moving on, Bream addressed Trump’s public remarks about the $130,000 payment, which he alleged he knew nothing about.

“Now Cohen did use very careful language. He said ‘neither the Trump campaign nor the Trump organization’ paid him. Does that leave room that the president may have reimbursed or paid him?” Bream asked.

“Again, it’s ongoing legislation. I can’t speak to it. You have to speak to the White House counsel,” Gidley said. “I’m not an attorney. I just work at the White House.”

It’s probably worth noting that Gidley likely misspoke and meant “litigation” instead of “legislation.”
