‘Wow!’ Fox’s Bill Hemmer Shocked by Market Freefall as Trump Tariffs Go Into Effect

Roughly a half hour into Tuesday morning trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down over 600 points. Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer directly connected the “sharp sell-off” to President Donald Trump’s tariff policy going into effect, and could not help but exclaim “Wow!” after seeing all the numbers in red.

The economy playing a big part in the president’s plans,” said Hemmer to open the segment. “Now he’s imposing a 25% tariff on all imports from Mexico, Canada, an extra 10% from China. And look at the reaction on the big board today,” he continued as viewers were shown a massive graphic of a big red negative number, with a “Trump’s Tariffs” logo next to it.

“So the Dow at the moment is down 1.4%,” he continued. “You add that to yesterday, and you’re about 2.8% off in two days of trading. The NASDAQ is down even more.”

“It’s about 3.6% overall in just two days now,” added Hemmer. “Now Trump is saying there’s no room left for negotiation. This is a deal that has set the market up starting today in the red sharp sell-off yesterday. Dana, as I just mentioned there. Wow.”

Dana Perino dutifully introduced a clip of Trump Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent insisting that these policies will “turbocharge” the economy.

Aa of publishing, the DJIA was down 668 points.
