7th Heaven Actor Cut from Scandal Episode over Molestation Investigation
7th Heaven actor Stephen Collins is under investigation for molestation, and as a result he’s been cut from two of the projects he’s been working on: Ted 2 and Scandal.
TMZ obtained audio purporting to be of Collins confessing to molesting young girls for a number of years. The NYPD is looking into the matter, and, of course, whatever projects Collins was attached to are now dropping him.
Yesterday Collins was fired from Ted 2, the Seth MacFarlane sequel to the 2012 Mark Wahlberg-teddy bear buddy comedy. He only had a small role in the film, but they still cut him out regardless.
And then there’s his Scandal appearance. Collins had a guest role on the hit ABC political thriller back in 2012 as an anchorman, and he tweeted last month about filming again for the show:
Lucky me (should it be Lucky I?…never mind)..shooting another episode of #Scandal today for the amazing @shondarhimes !

Happy to say I did another episode of #Scandal. Had a gr8 time. Wish I could say more but @ShondaRhimes would have to kill me.

Today, however, ABC said in a statement, “We can confirm that we will not be airing any footage with Stephen Collins.”
