A Plane Made an Emergency Landing After Hitting a Deer During Takeoff

Today, a plane had to make an emergency return to the airport after hitting a deer during takeoff, reports Yahoo. According to the FAA, the American Airlines flight, which was going from Charlotte Douglas International Airport in North Carolina to Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport in Mississippi, took of at around 11:45 this morning.
The flight crew reported an emergency and made a safe landing back at the airport. In a statement, American Airlines said “The airplane came immediately back to the airport and landed safely. There was fuel leaking from the aircraft, so passengers deplaned on the runway and firetrucks did hose the plane down. The passengers have been bused back to the terminal and will get a new aircraft.”
