Al Sharpton Will Deliver Eulogy At Rodney King’s Funeral

The man whose encounter with the Los Angeles Police Department sparked the LA Riots of the 1990s, Rodney King, passed away earlier this month, and with new details of his funeral services emerging, the media has learned that MSNBC host Al Sharpton will eulogizing King at his services.

According to the AP, the funeral will be attended by a number of civil rights leaders and will be public, with the eulogy delivered by Rev. Sharpton:

Sharpton, who says in a statement that King was “a symbol of civil rights” who “represented the anti-police brutality and anti-racial profiling movement of our time,” will deliver the eulogy Saturday at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills.

The funeral comes nearly two weeks after King was found dead at the bottom of the swimming pool at his Rialto, Calif. home on June 17. He was 47.
