Anchorman Lives! Watch Will Ferrell Grill Tennis Legend Roger Federer Ron Burgundy-Style

It has become customary, following center court matches during the four major championships in tennis, for the winning player to be interviewed for broadcast over the stadium’s public address system.

On Tuesday, following his first round Australian Open victory, tennis legend Roger Federer was introduced to his inquisitor: Ron Burgundy.

Of course, it was actor Will Ferrell who strode out to conduct the chat — to the roar of the crowd at Rod Laver Arena. But Ferrell appeared in character as Burgundy — the beloved doofus at the center of the Anchorman films.

“You’re 32 years old, you seem ageless,” Ferrell said to Federer. “Are you a witch or a vampire?”

Federer laughed. Retired tennis great-turn-broadcaster John McEnroe jokingly asked, “Which one’s better?”

“Probably a vampire.” Ferrell said.

Stay classy, Melbourne.
