Astronaut Goes After Trump With NSFW Quote Used In First Protest in Space
An anonymous group of space experts and scientists known as the Autonomous Space Agency Network just gave the world (universe?) its first protest in space.
Naturally, the protest was against Donald Trump.
A weather balloon was sent up with a printout of an ASAN tweet attached to it. That tweet quoted Apollo 14 astronaut Edgar Mitchell, who said that after seeing the planet from afar, “You want to grab a politician by the scruff of the neck and drag him a quarter of a million miles out and say, ‘Look at that, you son of a bitch.’”
Thus, the tweet said, “@realDonaldTrump: Look at that you son of a bitch.”
An ASAN member told the Washington Post, “We sought to send a message of protest to President Trump against his proposed budget cuts for NASA’s Earth science program, which is invaluable to understanding climate change and making informed, data-driven policy decisions.”
