Bakery Acknowledges it Copied Obama’s Inauguration Cake for Trump, Says It Will Donate Profits
Over the weekend, Baker Duff Goldman noticed something about President Donald Trump‘s inauguration cake. It’s pretty much the exact same thing he made for President Barack Obama‘s inauguration four years ago, and he didn’t make this one.

The bakery responded pretty much in the best way possible. In an Instagram post, DC’s Buttercream Bakeshop acknowledged that they were asked to recreate the design from 2013. They also said they’re going to be donating all of the profits from the cake. “Best part is all the profits are being donated to @humanrightscampaign, one of our favorite charities who we have loved working with over the years. Because basic human rights are something every man, woman and child~ straight, gay or the rainbow in between~ deserve!”
Goldman and the bakery had a bit of a back and forth on Twitter, and it seems all is forgiven:
Thanks for the chat @Duff_Goldman. You are a class act!
