Biden Reportedly Encouraged Mitt Romney to Run for Senate

They were once political rivals, but now former Vice President Joe Biden has encouraged Mitt Romney to run for Senate in 2018.
According to CNN, Biden was speaking at Romney’s annual ideas summit in Park City, Utah attended by donors and business leaders. At the private event, te called Romney a “man of integrity” and then said this off-the-cuff remark:
“By the way, you should run for Senate.”
This received a big applause from the audience. It is widely believed that Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT) will not seek an eighth term in 2018 and several names have been floating around as possible replacements, including Rep. Jason Chaffetz––who is leaving the House later this month but has denied he’s seeking this office––and former independent presidential candidate Evan McMullin.
Romney was also in the running to become President Trump’s Secretary of State, a position he said yesterday he would have accepted. That job ultimately went to Rex Tillerson.
