Bloomberg TV Profiles “One Of The Most Influential Voices”: Jon Stewart
The Daily Show may not be airing new episodes this week, but Jon Stewart will still be invading your airwaves. Tomorrow night, he’ll be seen hosting Night of Too Many Stars, the annual comedy event intended to boost awareness of and funding for Autism education (this is the same event that Stewart made his first remarks about Rick Sanchez).
At the same time, Bloomberg TV will be increasing awareness of a different topic — Stewart himself. Bloomberg Game Changers, a documentary series that is pretty much what it sounds like, will be interviewing his colleagues, friends, and high school English teacher in order to give viewers a fuller profile of the comedian.
The narrator in the preview below gets things started early, asking, “How did he go from stand-up comic to one of the most influential voices in the country?” Brian Williams fields the question, answering: “He’s one of those people who keep you honest.”
The show promises to thoroughly chronicle Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz‘s story, “from his New Jersey boyhood” to “rare video” of earlier parts of his career. As reported by Politico:
Interviews include Larry Nikols, Stewart’s English teacher at Lawrence High School in New Jersey; Emmy Award-winning writer Bill Grundfest, who founded The Comedy Cellar in New York City and “discovered” Stewart; comedian and frequent Daily Show guest Ricky Gervais; NBC News Anchor Brian Williams; The Daily Beast’s media writer Howard Kurtz, and Patty Rossborough, Stewart’s co-host from a previous television show.
Those with DVRs or quick remote controls and quicker thumbs can tune in to both shows on their respective networks tomorrow at 9pm ET.
