Brzezinski Issues Stern Warning to Clinton & Co.: ‘Get Off Your High Horse About This Tax Thing!’
The latest controversy to “rock” the Donald Trump campaign trail is the revelation by The New York Times this weekend that due to a $917 million loss in 1995, the GOP candidate may not have paid taxes in a very, very long time.
Did it break the rules? Well, no, but it looks really bad, cry his critics.
That’s not good enough, according to MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski, who grew frustrated on Morning Joe Tuesday over the obsession into Donald Trump’s tax returns which are not revealing any sinister or illegal doings, but rather shows that the real estate icon may have simply taken advantage of a financial system.
“The reaction to this New York Times story — from Donald Trump — was brilliant,” said Brzezinski, largely agreeing with the chorus of Trump surrogates who have claimed that the candidate’s approach to taxes was “genius.”
“She has been hiding this speech money, hiding this Foundation stuff,” Brzezinski continued about Hillary Clinton. “Hiding this email stuff, trying to get around it. Mistakes were made. I’m telling you — people are not feeling a complete connection to her.”
“Get off your high horse about this tax thing unless law were broken. It’s not an issue. You guys cancel each other out!” she firmly concluded.
Cohost Joe Scarborough added, “I don’t think Donald Trump playing by the rules is going to resonate with people in middle America.”
