Carson: I’d Give Kanye West a Chance at the White House

In the past few weeks, Kanye West has floated the possibility of running for president in 2020, and has been sending praise towards “most brilliant guy” Ben Carson.

During his appearance on ABC’s This Week, Carson said that he recently spoke with the rapper, and that he’s impressed with his “business acumen” to the point that America could give him a shot at the White House.

“I am certainly willing to give him a chance,” Carson said. “He’ll be able to explain things and see if he resonates with the people.”

West aligning with Carson would certainly deal a personal blow to Donald Trump, who previously said to Rolling Stone that West “loves” him. As far as Yeezus is concerned, Carson explained that having him involved in his campaign wasn’t out of the question, and that it would have quite the effect on America:

He knows a lot about business. I talked to him about the possibility of maybe himself and some of the other people in pop culture doing some music that might be uplifting, that might give young women a sense of their value and young men a sense of responsibility. I think it could be a tremendous thing in our society.
