Chris Christie to Announce He’s Running for President for Some Reason
Despite a drop in the polls and speculation he may not run, Republican New Jersey Governor Chris Christie plans to announce a presidential run next Tuesday.
Christie was once the clear Republican frontrunner, at one point polling nine points higher than his closest competitor. But since then he has dropped to a distant ninth in the RealClearPolitics average, behind Donald Trump. Christie has also seen a drop in popularity in his home state, with the once insanely popular governor now only having a 30% approval rating in New Jersey.
Nevertheless, Politico reports that Christie will announce his intentions to run for president at Livingston High School, where he once served as class president. Christie will reportedly make a strong push in the early primary state of New Hampshire where his moderate political views are more likely to resonate.
