CNN’s Chris Cuomo Takes Heat For Now Deleted Tweet Regarding Kamala Harris Birth Place

Politicos are dragging CNN’s Chris Cuomo after he seemed to suggest that Senator and 2020 presidential candidate Kamala Harris (D-CA) should provide proof of her citizenship following a birtherism conspiracy spread by a highly-discredited alt-right provocateur.
Update: Cuomo has since deleted the tweet (which you can read below) because it was interpreted the opposite of how it was intended.
Known smear-job artist Jacob Wohl is spreading the idea that Harris, who just announced her candidacy, is ineligible for the Oval Office for the same reason a few conspiracy theorists believed Barack Obama should have been disqualified.
Kamala Harris is NOT eligible to be President. Her father arrived from Jamaica in 1961—mother from India arrived in 1960
Neither parent was a legal resident for 5 years prior to Harris’s birth, a requirement for naturalization
Kamala was raised in Canada

Here is Kamala Harris’ yearbook from Westmount High School in MONTREAL!
Just like the worst President in American History, Barack Hussein Obama, Kamala Harris was NOT raised in the United States
Is it too much to ask to have a President that was born and RAISED in America? pic.twitter.com/PxIhv3ZF7v

Wohl was swiftly denounced by many, including this smackdown from CNN commentator Ana Navarro:
Here we go again with the “birther” crap. Same drummed-up charge used against Obama to question his citizenship and legitimacy. Hmmmmm…..I wonder what Obama and @KamalaHarris have in common? ? https://t.co/FJALAcAsXd
— Ana Navarro (@ananavarro) January 22, 2019
Cuomo saw Navarro’s comment and reacted by saying its a legitimate question whether Harris is constitutionally eligible for the White House as a natural-born citizen of the United States.
And hopefully there will be no games where the issue keeps changing for righty accusers…and…the legit info abt Harris comes out to deal with the allegation ASAP. The longer there is no proof either way, the deeper the effect https://t.co/y4Z6ZRXLdY

As it were, people have noticed Cuomo’s tweet, and they have no patience for him apparently giving credence to the idea that Harris should produce proof of her birth in Oakland, CA.

UPDATE – Cuomo has deleted his previous tweet and replaced it with another one explaining what he meant.
Deleted my original tweet because it was taken literally the opposite way that I intended it. Sen Harris has no duty to justify any such accusation, let alone a birtherism attack. You accuse, you prove. That was my point. Apologize for confusion.
