CNN’s Pamela Brown Rips Trump Apart For ‘Stunning’ Khashoggi Statement: ‘A Slap in the Face’ to the Intel Community

Pamela Brown, CNN’s senior White House correspondent, is not one prone to hyperbole. The reporter tends to play it pretty close to the vest, and seldom delivers anything close to a hot take.

But on Tuesday, in the moments following President Donald Trump’s jawdropping statement in which he announced his intention to side with the Saudis rather than the U.S. Intelligence community as it relates to the murder of Washington Post contributor Jamal Khashoggi, Brown didn’t mince words.

Anchor Brianna Keilar threw to Brown — reporting from the White House — by saying, “This is…it’s stunning, this statement.”

“It is stunning on a number of levels,” Brown said. “Particularly the fact that the president hasn’t even received the report from his Intelligence community.”

Brown added, “This is just extraordinary, and really a slap in the face, Brianna, to the intelligence community. The president making this declaration standing by Saudi Arabia before he even reviews the assessment from the CIA here at the White House today.”

If the normally reserved CNNWhite House correspondent is using language like “slap in the face” to describe the president’s statement, what will the hot take artists have to say?
