Ex-CIA Chief John Brennan Slams Trump Tariffs as ‘Simple Minded Policies’

Former CIA Director John Brennan has been a little sharper on Twitter recently in response to comments made by President Trump.
On Monday he knocked Trump for being a “charlatan” putting his paranoia and anxiety on full display for his comments on the Russia investigation.
Today he called the president ignorant over his trade tweet this morning:
From Bush 1 to present, our Country has lost more than 55,000 factories, 6,000,000 manufacturing jobs and accumulated Trade Deficits of more than 12 Trillion Dollars. Last year we had a Trade Deficit of almost 800 Billion Dollars. Bad Policies & Leadership. Must WIN again! #MAGA

You show an amazing albeit unsurprising ignorance of how technology, automation, and the attendant evolution of economics and societies have transformed the world. Your simple minded policies–imposition of tariffs–have the potential to seriously damage our future prosperity. https://t.co/pjhSKcmSdV
