Florida Man Paints House with Stars and Stripes Because…

You think you’re a patriot? Well, how come you haven’t painted your house to look like the American flag. Because Florida man Brent Greer has. and despite a warning that he isn’t allowed to do that, he’s sticking to it and fighting the local authorities because “this is America.”

Greer has been dealing with the local government for a while over the condition and look of his home, with complaints about the “mold, mildew and bare wood showing on the structure, chipped and peeling paint, an accumulation of trash, exposed wires and decaying supporting members of a balcony railing.”

And in response, he put up an American flag.

Greer took his experience with code enforcement as an infringement on his personal rights.

“I told the code enforcement officer that the Constitution gives me rights, and he told me that the city’s laws trump the Constitution,” said Greer. “I said, ‘Well, no, it doesn’t.’ This is America and what rules America is the Constitution.”

Greer said he could understand if the city had cited serious infractions, but he said he was willing to comply.

America, f*ck yeah!
