Most Republicans have openly welcomed the news that Donald Trump has picked Senator Jeff Sessions to be his appointment for Attorney General, but one Republican congressman is publicly expressing his concerned.
Justin Amash, one of the more libertarian Republicans in Congress, earlier praised the choice of Mike Pompeo for CIA director, despite their disagreements…
I know @RepMikePompeo. He's a great pick. Yes, we have our disagreements, but Mike will listen to our concerns and serve with integrity. https://t.co/DD9HOqyr7C

Note I didn't call Mike a libertarian. A person doesn't have to share my political views for me to consider him well meaning and capable. https://t.co/cfJDmGHZuM

VERY big disagreement on many surveillance issues, but @RepMikePompeo has debated me and others sincerely, thoughtfully, and respectfully. https://t.co/gGILUpWYJy

…but he went on to express concerns about Sessions for AG:
Unlike the CIA director, the AG has a lot of independent policy authority and prosecutorial discretion. I'm deeply concerned about Sessions.

Amash did not publicly elaborate, but he did make it clear that he’s had issues with the two attorneys general who have served under the current president:
I repeatedly demanded that Holder resign and said that Lynch was unfit to serve and should be rejected by the Senate. https://t.co/pghMGoIS0L
