Heidi Cruz Gave a Small Address After Trump Threatened to ‘Spill the Beans’ On Her
To catch you up, a few days ago, an anti-Donald Trump superPAC called Make America Awesome — which was previously known for such benign things as launching a petition for NBC to “unfire” Trump — took a shot at potential First Lady Melania Trump by using nude photos of her taken for a magazine in one of their ads.
Trump was furious that the superPAC would drag his wife into it, but as he has done in the past, he didn’t get mad at the right superPAC. This time, he took aim squarely at Ted Cruz, tweeting that Cruz’s campaign had better leave Melania out of their advertising or he would “spill the beans” on the candidate’s wife, Heidi Cruz.
Heidi herself was asked about this today and very carefully reiterated that she and her husband were not responsible for the original ad featuring Melania. She said that her family has tried to run a positive campaign and voters should focus only on the materials they personally released.
When it came to Trump’s threats to “spill the beans” on her, she said this:
As you probably know by now, most of the things others say are not based in reality.
Tamron Hall observed that Heidi took the high road here.
