‘He’s Not a Professional Liar’: CNN Panel Goes Off the Rails Over Trump’s Wiretap Claims
While the network waited for White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer to begin today’s daily press briefing, a CNN panel discussion got a bit chaotic when two panelists went back and forth over whether or not President Donald Trump was a “professional liar.”
At the beginning of the segment, anchor Brooke Baldwin asked former Trump campaign strategist David Urban if it was tough for him to see the president try to wiggle out of his wiretap claims against Barack Obama during his interview with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson. Urban answered that he didn’t think Trump’s “trying to wiggle out of that” while stating that we just need to wait and see.
After political commentator Keith Boykin claimed that “there’s not credibility left in this administration,” Urban objected, telling Boyking that’s a “big brush.” The liberal pundit shot back, highlighting a number of instances where Trump has made unproven claims.
“The guy’s a professional liar,” Boykin exclaimed. “The guy’s a professional liar!” (He also told Urban not to touch him.)
“He’s not a professional liar,” Urban responded.
The two would engage in a bit of a battle for the next couple of minutes, with Boykin challenging Urban on a number of remarks Trump has made and asking for him to verify if they are true. “I can shout loud too,” Urban told Boykin.
“OK, nobody’s shouting,” Baldwin interjected, ending the exchange between the two.
