House Benghazi Committee’s Report Delayed Until 2016

Per Bloomberg Politics, the House Select Committee on Benghazi will likely push its report on the 2012 attack on the American compound in Libya back to 2016, smack in the middle of the just-announced fifth season of Two Broke Girls, and the 2016 presidential election.

The committee itself is blaming the White House for the delays.

“Factors beyond the committee’s control, including witness availability, compliance with documents requests, the granting of security clearances and accreditations—all of which are controlled by the Executive branch—could continue to impact the timing of the inquiry’s conclusion,” a committee spokesperson said.

“Any particular month?” goofed one expert. “October?”

Democrats see the committee as a Hillary Clinton oppo research effort in congressional disguise, and suspect it was always intended to push into 2016, when it would potentially be most damaging to Clinton’s campaign. The House Select Committee has already revealed the existence of Clinton’s private email server while Secretary of State.
